Burma Reporting Fellowship for US and Burmese Journalists.
Open Hands Initiative and The GroundTruth Project are pleased to announce a reporting fellowship in Burma for 20 top, young correspondents?10 from America and 10 from Burma. The all-expense-paid journalism fellowship, entitled “Burma Telling Its Own Story,” will take place in Burma June 10-June 30. The fellowship will emphasize writing and radio broadcasting, as well as hands-on training in photography and videography by leading journalists from around the world with the participation of leading figures from civil society in Burma.

Panos Journalism Fellowships

Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN)

The fellowships are being offered by Panos South Asia as part of a Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN) project for enhancing climate change awareness and understanding among journalists in South Asia. Applications are invited from print, television, radio and web journalists writing / reporting on climate change and environment issues from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
The fellowships will support writing / reporting stories on climate change from the region. The fellows will also have the opportunity to participate in a training workshop and field trip that will link them with their peers from the neighbouring countries and understand climate-related issues from a South Asian perspective. Applicants should have a strong motivation for working on climate change related issues in South Asia and should have worked on climate-related stories in their media. The application, by e-mail, would need to include the following:
1.?A covering letter, in which the applicant explains his/her motivation for applying for the fellowship, and how he/she would use the fellowship to build on previous experience (two to three pages).
2.?A detailed CV with the names and contact details of two references.
3.?Copies of two stories published on climate change or environment. TV/radio journalists can also provide the link to the programme.
4.?A copy of a scanned letter from the editor of the applicant?s publication, TV or radio channel supporting the application. Please write ?Application for the SACCA Fellowships 2013? in the subject line of your e-mail application.

GOETHE-INSTITUT FELLOWSHIP AT HAUS DER KUNST

The program will award each fellowship for one year.

Haus der Kunst is a non-collecting public museum and a key global center for contemporary art located in Munich, Germany. It is dedicated to the exploration of the diverse histories of contemporary art based on a foundation of focused exhibitions, research, and education. The museum’s aim is to establish research as an integral cornerstone of its vision, and to develop a context for scholarship that allows for the interplay of art, culture, politics, and society in the way modern and contemporary art are understood on a global level. The “Goethe-Institut Fellowship” is an important building block towards this aim. Supported by the Goethe-Institut, the “Goethe-Institut Fellowship at Haus der Kunst” is designed for international emerging scholars whose research focuses on global perspectives on modern and contemporary art in the second half of the 20^th century and 21^st century.
The inaugural fellowship shall concentrate on the research for a comprehensive exhibition project on the global art historical developments of the Post-war era. It will be the first of a trilogy whose second and third chapters will be devoted to the periods of Post-colonialism and Post-communism. One of the main tasks is the research and organization of a series of seminars, colloquia, an international symposium in preparation for the project.

Asia Journalism Fellowship 2013 opens for applications
The fifth round of the Asia Journalism Fellowship will run from 25 February to 17 May 2013. The fully-sponsored programme is accepting applications until 12 October 2012 from accomplished mid-career journalists.
The annual programme is an initiative of Temasek Foundation and Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. It brings journalists from across Asia to NTU’s Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information for three months.
Away from the deadline pressures of their jobs, Fellows pursue their intellectual interests in one of Asia’s leading universities. The semi-structured programme is designed to sharpen professional skills and deepen understanding of trends in media and communication at a time of rapid and sweeping change.
The Wee Kim Wee School is the home of the new WAN-IFRA Newsplex Asia, a prototype newsroom for developing strategies for getting the most out of media convergence. AJF?s 2013 programme will include workshops that take full advantage of this new facility.
AJF also provides access to key newsmakers in Singapore’s public sector, business community and civil society, offering insights into the challenges faced by one of Asia’s most cosmopolitan hub cities.
Applicants should have five years of experience and the potential to make a difference in their profession and their home country on their return. Ten journalists from around the world have been awarded the 2011 Dart?Center Ochberg Fellowship.

The 2011 Dart Center Ochberg Fellows will come from around the world to attend a week-long seminar to improve coverage of traumatic events.

The Dart Center for Journalism and Trauma at Columbia University?s Graduate School of Journalism announces the recipients of the 2011?Dart Center Ochberg Fellowships for coverage of violence and trauma.
The Ochberg Fellowships were established in 1999 by the Dart Center for journalists seeking to deepen their reporting of traumatic events. Fellowships are awarded to outstanding mid-career journalists in all media who have dedicated much of their work to covering violence, conflict and tragedy, including street crime, family violence, natural disasters, war and genocide.
The week-long Ochberg Fellowship offers journalists a unique opportunity to learn about the many dimensions of psychological trauma and to forge relationships with colleagues who share their interests. Fellows attend seminars with leading experts in trauma science and journalism practice, and participate in the annual conference of the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies.
