The Rural Visual Journalism Network (RVJN) is an innovative initiative of the DRIK Picture Library Ltd. in Bangladesh where trained district correspondents use Apple i-Pod Touch technology to produce multimedia stories from rural Bangladesh. The main goal of RVJN is to create a network of rural visual journalists who are professional photographers, NGO workers and citizen journalists trained and equipped to produce and report on multimedia stories on governance, human rights and other related issues. The correspondents? multimedia stories focus on addressing specific issues faced by media and by rural citizens of Bangladesh. Women reporters have shown that they have a unique way of telling their stories to the world and this capacity needs to be nurtured. RVJN stories are ?unfiltered? views on the issues that matter. To date the programmer has trained over 40 rural journalists from 25 districts, with 485 Stories produced and 206 of these Stories published on?www.driknews.com?and Bangla rights (www.banglarights.net) websites.
