Documentary Arts Asia?s Artist in Residence Program will support an Asian photographer or filmmaker in Chiang Mai for up to three months to complete a cultural, environmental or human-rights project and help DAA promote documentary practice and visual literacy in the region. ?In addition to producing a substantial body of work, the Artist in Residence will teach workshops and bring new ideas and energy to the documentary community in Chiang Mai, Thailand and the Asia region. ?Chiang Mai?s variety of potential documentary subject matter, large population of artists and relatively low cost of living make it the ideal location for an Artist in Residence program.
